Kegel Exercises and pelvic floor health

Kegel exercises are an important element of women’s pelvic floor health, wellness and fitness

The Kegel exercises target the pelvic floor muscles, a group of intertwined muscles that attached from the pubic bone to the tailbone and between the site bones. As any other muscles, the pelvic floor muscles need to be toned and strengthened. They are not visible but play a critical role in supporting our organs,  in urinating/ bowel movement functions and sexual health.  Kegel exercises were named after Doctor Kegel as a form of exercises to tone, stretch, strengthen all of the muscles between our pubic bone and tail bone and between our sitz bones. For women, it is a must to do kegel exercises and be aware and able to contract these hammock – shape like muscles. But it is not easy and sometimes you need help in accessing the right muscles and contacting them. It is critical for every woman to maintain a healthy pelvic floor to be at their best before, during, and after pregnancy. Women go through many changes in their lives pregnancies, exercises, running, hormones, menopause, create some change sin the tone and supporting abilities of the pelvic floor. When the supporting function of the pelvic floor is impaired, incontinence – stress incontince or urge continence – may become an issue. More than 47% of women between the age of 22 and 49 years old experience some urinary incontinence. Other complications may happen that affect the quality of life of many women.

Who are Kegel Exercises addressed to ?

  • Kegel exercises are a must during pregnancy. At Body Belly Baby it is taught to pregnant women at every prenatal Pilates class. As the baby is growing and pressing on the bladder, the increasing weight combined to the relaxin hormone is very strenuous on the pelvic floor muscles and may result in some leaks during pregnancy.
  • Postpartum, Kegel exercises are even more than a MUST and with the help of the EXMI technology Chair, Kegel exercise can be done for you. The pregnancy itself is strenuous on the pelvic floor. Independent on the type of birth – a natural birth or a birth with a c-section – the pelvic floor is weakened and lacks tone. It is important right after birth to strengthen these muscles.
  • If you experience some leakages when you sneeze, caught, laugh, jog… Kegel exercises on the EXMI chair is a very effective way to strengthen the pelvic floor.

Body Belly Baby is one exclusive  pelvic floor center of America in Miami and uses the EXMI cutting-edge technology to strengthen and tone your pelvic floor muscle. The EXMi is your very private trainer and does the Kegel exercise for you as you sit on the chair.

Unlike electrical stimulation, Extracorporeal Magnetic Innervation Technology ( ExMI) uses electromagnetic fields to induce natural contractions of the pelvic floor muscles. There is no need for direct contact, probes, patches, or other electrodes;students may remain conformably seated and fully clothed throughout the duration of the fitness session. Electromagnetic stimulation is painless and harmless.Special electromagnets have been designed and built into the seat of the ExMI Chair. The effective magnetic filed above the magnets is small -about the size of a small pineapple. When the student is sitting in the chair , the muscles of the pelvic floor are positioned directly above the magnetic field. By adjusting the strength of the filed, the nerves and muscles of the pelvic floor are induced to contract. The rate and strength of the pelvic floor contractions can be adjusted to optimal settings using controls, like tuning the frequency and volume on a radio.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
