As pediatric CPR is a course we recommend to every parent-to-be or new parents, no everyone decides to take the course and postpones it to later. Once baby arrives, parents are very busy, sleep-deprived, and can not imagine themselves sitting in a classroom for three hours.
It is easy to understand that the priority at this time in your life is not to sit in a course. However learning CPR should be part one required course for every new parent before baby arrives. It is important to educate and bring the awareness of the possible – almost always preventable – accidents that happen daily to babies and toddlers in the United States.
In Florida, drowning is the 2nd reason for death in the age group 1-4 year old. CPR is a must. Safety in and around the water is a must. Parents need to know what to do and how to react in case of an emergency, be able to perform CPR and relieve a child who is choking, and also be aware of the possible risky situations that often unfortunately lead to injuries.
In this article in http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/312432.php, the head injuries that occur because of improper use of strollers is alarming. Aren’t straps supposed to be buckled up ? this is the child’s seatbelt… why wouldn’t it be used? in pediatric CPR course, we do bring awareness to families about what to do and what not to do , and in case of an emergency what to do absolutely.
It is the priority here at Body Belly Baby to educate all parents-to-be in Miami and show that this is a priority for anyone who will care for a child to know the skills of pediatric CPR.
The pediatric CPR course follows strictly all American Heart Association protocole and is taught by an AHA certified instructor Basic Life Support and HeartSaver for healthcare providers.
